Den var l\u00e4tt att ber\u00e4kna, men hade nackdelen att den inte var helt ekvidistant. F\u00e4rgskillnader som visuellt uppfattades som \u201elika stora\u201c bed\u00f6mdes olika av LAB i olika f\u00e4rgomr\u00e5den. Till exempel kunde ett v\u00e4rde p\u00e5 \u0394E = 2 i neutralgr\u00e5tt vara tydligt f\u00f6r det m\u00e4nskliga \u00f6gat, medan samma avvikelse knappt var m\u00e4rkbar i m\u00e4ttat bl\u00e5tt. F\u00f6r att komma till r\u00e4tta med detta utvecklades nya ber\u00e4kningsmodeller. Den mest anv\u00e4nda ber\u00e4kningen inom tryckeribranschen idag \u00e4r \u0394E00 (Delta E 2000). Denna f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrade formel tar h\u00e4nsyn till att det m\u00e4nskliga \u00f6gat \u00e4r olika k\u00e4nsligt f\u00f6r f\u00e4rger i olika omr\u00e5den av LAB-f\u00e4rgrymden och ger en mer exakt bed\u00f6mning av f\u00e4rgskillnader.<\/p>\n<p>Det finns tydliga toleranser f\u00f6r f\u00e4rgavst\u00e5ndet inom korrektur- och trycksektorn. Ett \u0394E*00-v\u00e4rde under 1,0 anses vara om\u00e4rkligt och \u00e4r m\u00e5ttet p\u00e5 maximal precision. V\u00e4rden mellan 1,0 och 3,0 anses vara acceptabla f\u00f6r tryckproduktion. V\u00e4rden \u00f6ver 3,0 leder d\u00e4remot ofta till att trycket m\u00e5ste kasseras eller att tryckprocessen m\u00e5ste korrigeras. Dessa toleranser \u00e4r en integrerad del av kvalitetsstyrningssystem och hj\u00e4lper till att kontrollera om ett provtryck eller ett tryckt ark uppfyller den givna specifikationen.<\/p>\n<p>Anv\u00e4ndningen av f\u00e4rgavst\u00e5ndet \u00e4r vanligtvis integrerat direkt i arbetsfl\u00f6det. Vid digital provtryckning anv\u00e4nds det t.ex. f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla provtryckets f\u00e4rgriktighet. F\u00f6r detta \u00e4ndam\u00e5l m\u00e4ts \u0394E-v\u00e4rdet mellan provtrycket och utskriftsreferensen och dokumenteras i en testrapport. Under produktionen kan f\u00e4rgskillnaden kontinuerligt \u00f6vervakas med inbyggda inline-m\u00e4tinstrument f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla att hela tryckningen h\u00e5ller sig inom den definierade toleransen.
